Coach Rambles

What happens when I have booked a seat on the coach? :

1. First of all - turn up at the appointed time!
Next find a seat on the coach - anywhere you like, rucksacks can be placed in the boot.
2. Bring with you all the suggested equipment and adequate food and drink for the day.
4. A change of clothes is essential - some days we get very wet! The clothing can be left on the coach during the day.
3. On the outward journey, usually after Carnforth, the treasurer will collect your coach fare (£8 for adults, £4 for under 18's). New members will not be asked to pay their subscriptions until they are out for the second time, but until you are a paid up member you will not be covered by our insurance policies.
4. Part way to our destination there will be a short stop for announcements. At this point you will hear about the days' rambles - start and finish points, distance to be walked, expected finish time etc. There will also be details about other Club activities - weekends away, Summer walks etc.
5. The stop will be short - allowing time for announcements and a toilet stop.
6. If you are unsure about which walk to join, speak to members around you and ask advice from the leaders. Generally speaking - don't be too ambitious - you can always choose a harder walk next time.
7. Be ready to leave the coach with the walk leader - and enjoy yourself!
8. On the walk itself listen carefully to the leader's instructions. They will have spent time planning the walk and organising lunch breaks, working out timing etc.
9. It is important to stay with the leader at all times, especially in misty conditions.
10. At the end of the walk there may be time for refreshments, but please be back in good time so that others are not delayed.
11. During the return journey you will be asked if you would like to book a place on the next coach outing - we hope you do! This is by far the easiest way to book a seat, but use the telephone if you prefer.
Ring 01524 858243 to book a coach seat (await return call for confirmation).
12. If you have any more questions then contact us.
